Martinez Lake is a lake in the southwestern corner of the U.S. state of Arizona, just north of Yuma, Arizona on the Lower Colorado River. Its area is about 300 to 500 acres (120 to 200 ha), depending upon where its boundary with the Colorado River is taken to be.

Mittry Lake is located in the southwest corner of Arizona, just north of Yuma on the Lower Colorado River. Mittry Lake comprises about 750 acres (300 ha), with much of the shoreline covered with cattails and bullrush. The lake has undergone rehabilitation work including marsh dredging, revegetation and fish habitat improvement, making it a great location for small game hunting and sport fishing. It is public land managed by both the Arizona Game and Fish Department and Bureau of Land Management, and available to the public for recreational purposes

The Colorado River known as America's "Nile," is the most important river in the Southwest. For millions of years it flowed unchecked, flooding annually, and creating some of the most incredible landscapes on our planet. From Utah's Canyon Lands, to Arizona's Grand Canyon, to some of the most fertile and productive farmland in the world; all are products of the amazing Colorado River. Our Location Yuma's strategic location at the only practical crossing point on the lower Colorado River assured its importance as a transportation hub in both pre-historic and modern times

The Imperial Dam and Desilting Works are situated on the Colorado River 18 miles northeast of Yuma, Arizona. The purpose of the dam is to raise the water surface 25 feet and provide controlled gravity flow of water into the All-American and Gila Gravity Main Canals. The desilting works remove most the sediment carried by the Colorado River.
