Who We Are…
We are the Yuma Metropolitan Planning Organization (YMPO), we are a collaborative entity dedicated to coordinating regional transportation planning across the Yuma planning region. Our mission is to enhance mobility and quality of life through a comprehensive, cooperative, and continuing multi-agency approach. YMPO comprises an Executive Board, a Technical Advisory Committee, and dedicated staff.
The Yuma MPO Executive Board has an elected official from every member agency and a representative from the State Transportation Board. The Executive Board is the decision making authority and approves all MPO activities, including the approval of project funding. The Executive Board usually meets the last Thursday of each month.

The Yuma MPO Technical Advisory Committee has at least one representative from each member agency and a representative from ADOT. The Technical Advisory Committee are the technical voices for transportation needs and projects throughout the YMPO planning region.

YMPO staff carry out transportation planning activities for the Yuma region. These include: Long-Range Transportation Plan, air quality studies, multi-modal planning, traffic counting and other activities as outlined by the Unified Planning Work Program.
